Apple Farms
Apple farms can be found in most areas of the United States.
These farms are often family-run businesses that have been active in
their communities for generations. They are commonly represented at
local farmers markets and in some instances they are the hosts for these
markets.
Apple farms can produce many different kinds of apples or can specialize
in one particular variety. Some of these farms grow genetically altered
trees that are capable of producing more than one type of apple. In
some cases as many as 100 different types of apples can be found on
a single tree.
Many apple farms include their own market. These stores are open to
the public and are excellent sources of farm-fresh produce. Fresh jams
and jellies, cider, wine and other such products can be found at these
markets.
